The Clarets are back in Premier League action and back on the road this weekend, as Burnley head to Anfield to face Liverpool in the Premier League.

Ahead of the visit to Merseyside, Maxime Estève sat down with the media, where the centre-back reflected on last weekend's FA Cup win over Millwall, the honour of captaining the side in that victory, Saturday's upcoming test against the Reds and coming up against a good friend.

TAMING THE LIONS

"We needed it, just for confidence & spirit. As a competitor, as a footballer, results like that after our recent run can just lift the lid off the pressure a little bit and we can take a breath again.

"It was a very good result and day for us all and I was especially very happy for Barnesy, he works so hard every day and he deserved it.

"It gives everyone that extra boost of confidence ahead of the next game and we just need to build on that game now."

CAPTAIN MAX

"I was really happy when the Gaffer told me this, it was a proud moment for me and an honour to have that recognition.

"I'm probably not the loudest off the pitch, but on the pitch I always try help my teammates and speak loud, so yes it was a special moment for me."

ANFIELD TEST

"Look, every game we go into we want to get a positive result and this weekend is no different, we know it's going to be very tough, but we have the belief and the last two games for us have been positive.

"We're going to be coming up against some of the best players in the world, like we do every week, but it's important we try our absolute best, stick together and I believe that can get us a result we need."

RIVALS FOR 90 MINUTES

"It will be nice to see Hugo (Ekitike) again, he is a good guy who I have known for a lot of years, playing against each other in France growing up and also together for the national team U19s and U21s.

"He is a world class striker and you can see every week how good he is. I saw him after the game last time we played Liverpool and it will be good to see him again this weekend, but on the pitch we can't be friends!"
