Clarets head to Anfield to face the Reds

Scott Parker's men are back in Premier League action on Saturday afternoon, as Burnley take on Liverpool at Anfield.

The Clarets head to Merseyside unbeaten in their last two, after picking up a point against Manchester United at Turf Moor, before cruising past Millwall in the Emirates FA Cup on Saturday.

Burnley remain eight points off 17th place and just a point behind West Ham United in 18th and a victory in Liverpool this weekend could close that gap again.

Saturday's opponents Liverpool currently occupy 4th spot in the league table and are currently on an 11 match unbeaten run in all competitions, stretching back to November.

The opposition

Liverpool are navigating their way through their first campaign as defending Premier League champions, following last season's title triumph under the guidance of Arne Slot in his first season at Anfield.

Although the Reds currently sit 4th in the league table and haven't lost since November, results and form prior to that had proven hard to come by.

Slot's side did start the season in remarkable fashion, winning their opening seven fixtures in all competitions, with six of the winning goals in those games coming after the 83rd minute.

However, a defeat at Selhurst Park at the end of September proved to be a turning point, as the Reds went on to lose five of their next six games in all competitions.

That losing run came to an end though in November and it looked like Liverpool had turner a corner, after impressive back-to-back wins over Aston Villa and Real Madrid, but Slot's side then suffered three straight defeats to Man City, Nottingham Forest and PSV.

The Reds responded though with a 2-0 win at West Ham and that turned out to be the result that kick-started the recent run of form and the current unbeaten run.

Despite drawing against Sunderland, Fulham, Arsenal and Leeds United twice, Liverpool have picked up wins against Inter Milan, Brighton, Spurs, Wolves and Barnsley during that run.
