Burnley are back in Premier League action on Saturday evening, with Fulham the visitors for a 5.30pm kick-off under the lights at Turf Moor.

Ahead of the showdown in BB10, Clarets defender Hjalmar Ekdal spoke to the media, eyeing up a positive start to a run of three home fixtures in four matches for Scott Parker's side at Turf Moor.

SHOW OF CHARACTER

"We stood up against Newcastle, showed our character, and nearly came away with a point at the end. The second half said a lot about this group and the spirit we have.

"We lost the game, but we can take a lot from it - there were a lot of positives that, for sure, we can take into the game this weekend."

BLANKING OUT THE NOISE

"The noise from game to game doesn't impact us as a group of players or staff.

"We just go game to game, focusing on the next one as soon as the last one is over with.

"We're all aware of the magnitude of the game. We're fully focused, we're relaxed, and we're looking forward to it."

PRE FESTIVE FEELS

"It would be a big boost to get a positive result this weekend. We don't like losing matches - we need to end the streak.

"We need to bounce back and get back to the winning feeling, especially with so many games coming up over the Christmas period."

HOME COMFORTS

"The home games are so important for us. We have to bring the positivity of the performance last weekend to Turf Moor on Saturday.

"After Bournemouth, there's then back-to-back home games over Christmas, and that could be massive for us. It could give us real momentum.

"That's what we've got to strive for, as players, staff and fans."

HUNGRY FOR SUCCESS

"Fulham will be looking at the game in the same way we are - they'll be looking to win the game too. We know what we can do to provide them with problems.

"We need to be more hungry than they and show the quality I know we have in this squad.

"Fulham are a team that has lots of Premier League experience, we know it will be tough, but hopefully the home advantage can be really important for us this weekend."
