Midfielder looks ahead to Saturday's clash with the Bees

James Ward-Prowse is relishing the potential opportunity of featuring in the Premier League for the Clarets for the first time at Turf Moor on Saturday, as the Clarets host Brentford.

The midfielder, who signed for the Club in January, featured as a substitute against both Crystal Palace and Chelsea, either side of a start in the Emirates FA Cup against Mansfield.

Speaking to the media ahead of this weekend's clash with the Bees, Ward-Prowse reflected on the recent result at Stamford Bridge, highlighted the welcome into the Club he has received and the desire to continue the run of recent form on Saturday against Brentford.

CHELSEA REFLECTIONS

"It was a really positive result for us. Going to those places it can always be difficult, you need the full team at it from the off and you need a solid team performance and then that little bit of luck and I think we had all of that.

"We could have even gone and nicked it at the end, but it wasn't meant to be, but it's a great point for us and hopefully we can build on that this weekend."

A WARM CLARET WELCOME

"It's been a great group to come into. Coming into a team in a relegation battle you never know how the dressing room is going to be, but I have been really pleasantly surprised with the energy, the togetherness and the enthusiasm this team has.

"I have really enjoyed the first few weeks, the group are great, the staff, everyone has been amazing and I couldn't have asked for a warmer welcome than what I have had."

LEADING ON AND OFF THE PITCH

"I think it's down to some of us older boys to show the younger ones how things can work and use our experience where we can to help them.

"I remember being a young player myself and having those older players then giving me advice and helping me out where they could, so it's roles reversed now and I'm more than happy to be one of the voices in the dressing room."

BACK ON HOME TURF

"I'm looking forward to it. It's important after another good result that we follow it up this weekend and don't let it slip.

"This time of the season it's all about momentum and there's another opportunity there on Saturday to keep it going and back at home in front of the fans, hopefully we can get a result for them."
