Zian Flemming said he was disappointed that the Clarets couldn't give the Burnley fans the win against Wolves on Sunday afternoon. However, he was pleased with the side's improved second half performance and took satisfaction from his finish when he netted his 11th league goal of the campaign.

GAME OF TWO HALVES

“We really struggled first half. We imagined the game a lot differently to how it started, obviously with that quick penalty. You could tell we kind of struggled to build momentum and do what the game asked from us.

“We were determined to change that in the second half and luckily we managed to do so apart from only scoring one goal.”

SATISFYING FINISH

“I would probably describe it as that as well. I’ve not seen it back yet but sometimes when you finish, I think this was one of them, satisfying is the right word because it felt like it came from a lot of calmness. Then when you see the ball going in like that it’s a feeling of satisfaction.”

11 LEAGUE GOALS

“For me, this is my first season in the Premier League being 27 years old. I don’t think anyone would have imagined me scoring that many goals, let alone 11 league goals. So, I’m very proud of that I can say, despite the fact that we’re going down. Everyone understands that disappointment, but I wouldn’t have expected that myself.

"It’s something that probably later in life you’ll look back on and be like, wow that’s not something that many players have been able to do. Maybe players have done but if you look at the names it’s not a usual thing to do. I think there’s a lot of players, including me, who probably dream of playing one Premier League game and maybe scoring one Premier League goal.

“Then throughout the season, I had a bit of a slow start with coming back from injury and having to wait on the sidelines, coming off the bench, or even staying on the bench. Then another small injury around December/January so in that sense it wasn’t the greatest of seasons for me. But without having played all the games I would have liked to I’ve still got a good return.”

ACKNOWLEDGING THE FANS

“Today we really wanted to give them the win. Obviously, we want to do it for ourselves as well, in the dressing room, because even though it might not look like that all the time when you lose. It can be an easy thing to think that we don’t try hard, but we’ve actually worked so hard and we’ve just fallen short.

“When you see the people in the stands today watching a game of football, let’s forget about the first half but the second half, we can give them a proper game. They can sit in the sun and enjoy it. You can then just feel that you make them happy or give them a bit of happiness. In the end that’s my purpose and I think we’ve done that against Villa in the previous home game, and then today unfortunately not a win but I hope they walk home with a bit of sunshine and feel happy with what they saw in the second half.”
