Information for supporters travelling to The City Ground

Burnley travel to Nottingham Forest on Sunday afternoon in the Premier League.

Visiting supporters who need to collect tickets can use the Visitors Ticket Office Collection Point located next to the away turnstiles and behind the Bridgford Stand of The City Ground.

The Visitors Ticket Office is open 90 minutes prior to kick-off and is the place where you will be able to collect any collections or duplicated tickets on matchday at The City Ground.

Supporters who are collecting any tickets will be requested to provide proof of their booking and valid photo ID to confirm that they are authorised to collect.

The Visitors’ Ticket Office Collection Point remains open only 45 minutes after kick-off, after which supporters will not be permitted to enter the stadium.

By Car

The City Ground can be accessed quickly and easily from junctions 24 and 26 of the M1, depending on which direction you’re departing from. Just remember to set your SatNav to NG2 5FJ.

From the north, leave the M1 at junction 26 and follow signs for Nottingham via the A610 Nuthall Road until you meet the A6514 at Western Boulevard. Turn right and follow the A6514 (‘the ring road south’) and join Middleton Boulevard, which becomes Clifton Boulevard after the Queens Medical Centre.

From the North

Turn right for Riverside P&R if you are heading for the Embankment, or Riverside Way Park & Ride, and follow signs for matchday parking. Continue around the ring road, carrying straight on at the Nottingham Knight Island and the Wheatcroft Island until you reach the Gamston Island. Take the first exit left onto the A6011 (‘Radcliffe Road’) and continue along the A6011 following the road as it bends to the right and continue over Lady Bay Bridge.

From the South

From the south, leave the M1 at junction 24 and follow the signs to join the A453 towards Nottingham and after passing through Clifton, continue on the A453 following signs for football and cricket traffic. Join the A52 eastbound towards Grantham and carry straight on at the Nottingham Knight Island and the Wheatcroft Island until you reach the Gamston Island. Take the first exit onto the A6011 (‘Radcliffe Road’) and continue along it, following the road as it bends to the right and continue over Lady Bay Bridge.

Car Parking

Fans should be aware that, on a matchday, parking at the ground is considerably limited and priority is given to disabled supporters, coaches, players, match and club officials. Any availability is on a matchday-only basis, charged at £10 first-come, first-served.

Please do not park on residential streets around West Bridgford, since controlled parking zones and residents parking schemes are enforced on a matchday, which will result in you receiving a parking ticket and fine.

If you plan to drive directly to the stadium, it is advised that you:

Accessible Parking

Nottingham Forest have 6 Accessible Parking Spaces available for visiting supporters. Please contact Burnley FC, so you may be added to the list that will will be sent over to accessibility@nottinghamforest.co.uk. Nottingham Forest will then reach out to process and take payment (£10.00). The away accessible parking spaces are in the Brian Clough Car Park, which is located just off Scarrington Road. The address is The Brian Clough Stand Car Park, West Bridgford, Nottingham NG2 5FA. The away accessible parking spaces are located directly next to the away end, where the gravel ground is level and there are no slopes or dropdown curbs.

By Train

Nottingham railway station has regular rail services from London, Birmingham, Derby, Leicester, Newark, Grantham, Worksop, Sheffield and Peterborough. The station itself is roughly a 20-minute walk or ten-minute bus ride from The City Ground, so the chances are you might be able to leave your car at home more easily than you think. By Taxi

Taxi ranks can be found everywhere around Nottingham City Centre, with the best places to grab a-cab located on Station Street and Queens Road, which are located at the front and at the rear of Nottingham Train Station.

By Bus

The City Ground is serviced by a number of frequent services from across the Nottingham, with the Numbers 5-11 services likeliest to pick-up/drop closest to the stadium in any direction. Arriving at The City Ground

To ensure that you are able to enter The City Ground without any hiccups, it is important that you attempt to access the stadium using the correct turnstile or accessible door. Details of the turnstile/accessible door that you should be using are displayed clearly on your ticket/card. Attempting to use your ticket/card at the wrong turnstile will result in failure and delays in you taking your seat.

Supporters must be made aware that, once you have entered the stadium, you will not be permitted to leave the stadium and re-enter. Once you’re in, you’re in!

The majority of turnstiles will close 10 minutes after kick-off. However, some turnstiles will be open until half-time to welcome late-comers to the stadium. Within the visitors’ section, any combination of turnstiles from 41-53 will be open to allow you access into the stadium

If you have received a match ticket, this will display the block, row and seat that you should be sat in and, most importantly, the turnstiles and a barcode that you must enter the stadium through.

Go to your designated turnstile and present your paper ticket. If successful, you will be allowed entry into the stadium; if there is an issue with your ticket, you will be directed towards a member of the Here To-Help squad for further assistance in getting you into the ground in a timely manner.

There are a number of food and drink kiosks available around the stadium, with a wide range of options on offer (including vegetarian and vegan options) as well as both alcoholic and soft drinks.

The food and drink counter(s) is/are located in the outer refreshment areas. The food and drink counter(s) is/are clearly signed. There is not a low section at the food and drink counter(s). There is not a hearing assistance system at the food and drink counter(s). Takeaway cups, cutlery and drinking straws are available. On the day, there is a steward available to provide assistance with ordering food and drink.

The Wellbeing Team can assist in taking food and drink to the designated seating area(s).

Supporter Information from Burnley Football Club

Burnley FC is One Club for All and we pride ourselves on being open, diverse and welcoming to everyone. Discrimination has no place in football, and we have a zero-tolerance approach to any supporter found breaching our Supporter Code of Conduct.

We will not tolerate any form of hate speech, offensive chanting or discriminatory behaviour, whether physical or verbal, from any supporters at home, away; while travelling to or from Club matches or events; or on social media or digital platforms. The Club will always take the necessary steps to eliminate such unacceptable behaviour; and the individual concerned will be subject to a sanction from the Club and may face arrest and subsequent prosecution.

Burnley Football Club has a zero-tolerance policy for fans entering the playing area and, as a result, any supporter who does so will be issued with a lifetime ban with immediate effect.

It is also against ground regulations to throw any items/missiles on the pitch - any supporter that throws anything, putting the safety of players and individuals at risk, will receive a severe banning order from the club. This behaviour will not be tolerated.

We urge all travelling supporters to ensure they represent our football club in a positive manner.

Matchday Welfare Officers

Nottingham Forest Welfare Officers are present to support you 3 hours prior to kick-off and are on hand to help supporters with any matchday support.

Whether supporters need directions, information on accessibility, contact details or just a safe space to come, the Welfare officers are on hand. The Welfare Officers are also out and about on foot around the ground wearing pink tabards to help them stand out in busy crowds.

Safeguarding

Children under 14 must be always accompanied by an adult aged 18+ when attending games at the City Ground. All supporters under 14 will be refused entry if not accompanied by an adult 18+ children U4 are NOT allowed to attend matches at the City Ground on health & safety grounds and will be refused entry. Children under 14 are not permitted to walk around the concourse alone and must be supervised by an adult. During the game, children Under 14 must be sat next to the adult with whom they are accompanied. On arrival make sure your children are aware of their seat details, emergency exits and where the toilets are situated in your stand. Ensure children wear appropriate clothing for this time of year and have some form of ID on them. Report any issues or concerns at the time to one of the stewards immediately. Where necessary the Safeguarding & Welfare Team will provide support. It is also advisable to arrange a meeting point should children become lost or separated.

Behaviour

Nottingham Forest Football Club advocate a strict policy of zero-tolerance towards supporters who act or express racist, homophobic or aggressive views towards others. Should you see or hear any behaviours which you believe do not adhere to these policies and which Nottingham Forest believe are unwelcome at The City Ground, you are advised to text the word FOREST to 60066 on matchday so that Nottingham Forest are able to act accordingly.

Your text will be treated in the strictest of confidence to identify and deal with the perpetrators.

Ground Regulations

Entry

There are 5 accessible entrances located around the stadium.

Accessible entrances are located in each stand, and there is an additional accessible entrance at the Bridgford Stand, near turnstiles 57-59. If you are unsure where to go, please locate a steward or a member of the Welfare Team and they will guide you in the correct direction.

Wheelchair Bays

The City Ground has 11 wheelchair bays in the away section in the Lower Bridgford Stand. 5 wheelchair bays in Block W2, and 6 wheelchair bays in Block X2. Please be advised that due to current stadium layout, wheelchair disabled away supporters can only access the stadium via the wheelchair accessible home entrance in the Bridgford Lower stand, where they are then escorted to the away section. Should supporters have any queries about this, or require any assistance at all, please email accessibility@nottinghamforest.co.uk where suitable arrangements can then be made.

Ambulant Disabled Seating

Ambulant disabled supporters can occupy any of the available seats in the away section should they not have any specific seating requirements, however, most accessible seating is situated in Block X1, Row Q and Row P, seats 85 – 112.

Accessible Toilets

The City Ground has accessible disabled toilet facilities in the home block between Y1 and Y2 next to the away section, which can be used by speaking to one of the helpful stewards who will assist. This is a short distance from the away section and due to the current stadium layout, the only accessible toilet facilities suitable for away supporters.

Assistance Dogs

Guide Dogs and Assistance Dogs are permitted within the Stadium Bowl; however, we recommend that visitors with Guide Dogs/Assistance Dogs contact Nottingham Forest directly on 0115 982 4388 or by email on accessibility@nottinghamforest.co.uk before attending any event at the City Ground so they can discuss access to the Ground and the welfare of the Guide Dog/Assistance Dog before, during and after the event.

Audio Commentary

To support fans who might be blind or partially sighted or require audio assistance to follow the game. Nottingham Forest currently offers audio commentary.

Audio Descriptive Commentary is offered free of charge and can be booked by emailing accessibility@nottinghamforest.co.uk or via the club ticket office; stewards will deliver the audio device. Please be aware that supporters will need to provide their own headphone/earphones with a 3mm jack.
