The Under-23s return to action this afternoon (Monday) when they take on league leaders Leeds United at Leyland.
The game (KO 2pm) is being streamed live and free on the Clarets’ YouTube Channel.
It will be the Clarets’ first league fixture for four weeks following the Christmas break, with Steve Stone’s side looking to build on a five-match unbeaten run.
However, it could be a tough test against a Leeds side sitting three points clear at the top of the second division of Premier League 2 after three successive wins.
The Clarets are likely to find their resources stretched, with a number of players currently involved in and around the first-team set-up ahead of Tuesday night’s visit of Manchester United and an FA Youth Cup tie to come at AFC Wimbledon on Wednesday.
But Stone will see it as an opportunity to give further Academy prospects a taste of football at this level with Burnley currently 11th in a congested table – three points behind third-placed Middlesbrough.
Phil Bird will be in the commentary box at Leyland as we offer this game free at the start of 2021 to allow fans to check out our expanded coverage as part of a Clarets+ subscription package.
The live YouTube stream will be available from 1.45pm.
