Will Norris was delighted to make his mark at Turf Moor as he helped steer the Clarets into the fourth round of the FA Cup.
Norris enjoyed a winning Burnley debut as the Clarets came from behind to knock-out League One outfit MK Dons in a dramatic penalty shoot-out.
The former Wolves keeper – who joined the Clarets last summer – stood firm to save two spot-kicks after the tie had ended at 1-1 after extra-time thanks to Matej Vydra’s last-gasp leveller.
And with Burnley missing just once from the spot that was enough to finally see off the challenge of the Dons and their inspired number-one Lee Nicholls.
“We didn’t really need the extra-time but it was good to get through,” said Norris, who was called into action after an ankle injury to Nick Pope forced the England keeper to take a place on Burnley’s bench.

“It was good (to play). I would have been happier with a clean sheet but I did my bit when called upon.
“It’s a win-win situation for the goallies. I thought their keeper had a blinding game.
“It possibly shouldn’t have gone to penalties, but I was just happy to do my job when called upon.”
Norris had been beaten by a first-half header from MK Dons’ striker Cameron Jerome and the Clarets looked as though they would be made to pay for a barrage of missed chances.
But Vydra came off the bench to throw his side a lifeline which they ultimately took and Norris hopes there’s more to come once then Clarets’ name has gone into the hat for the fourth and fifth-round draws, which both take place on Monday.
“It will be nice for the players not playing to get minutes in their legs, rather than play training-ground games,” he added.
“It would be nice to have little cup run.”
