Burnley Women have strengthened their squad with the addition of Emma Siddall, who joins from Manchester City on a dual registration basis until the end of the season.
Siddall is no stranger to the Clarets, having represented fellow Northern Premier Division of the Women’s National League side AFC Fylde since February of last year.
The 18-year-old has come through City’s youth system, featuring 13 times in the WSL Academy League last term before switching to the Coasters.
Cityzens manager Gareth Taylor gave Siddal her senior debut in a Continental Tyres League Cup fixture against Blackburn Rovers in October 2022.
Four months later, she was introduced as a substitute against Bristol City in the Adobe Women’s FA Cup.
This season she has made 13 appearances for Fylde in all competitions, including 12 starts.
After sealing her move, Siddall said: “I’m really excited to get started!
“The level of competition that Burnley offer is second to none, and to be able to come into a team that is fighting for promotion is something that really appealed to me.
“When I played against Burnley (for Fylde) earlier this season, it was quite a feisty game against a team of strong and ambitious players.
“What better way to start my time as Claret with the game against Newcastle, which I’m sure will be a really competitive game. I’m confident I’ll be able to settle in quite quickly.”
Lola Ogunbote, Burnley’s Head of Women’s Football, added: “In addition to her WSL Academy background, Emma is a player that has significant third-tier experience.
“Having that knowledge, despite still being so young, is something that we think will be advantageous to us as we head into the latter part of the season.
“My thanks go to Manchester City for their support in getting this deal over the line.”
Siddall has two familiar faces within the Burnley camp, with Ginny Lackey and Gracie Prior both also coming in from City on dual registration deals.
The 18-year-old will wear the number 30 shirt for the Clarets.
