Burnley U21s defender Murray Campbell has been called up to the Scotland men’s U19s squad for their upcoming friendlies against Turkey and Latvia.
The 17-year-old has previously represented his country five times at U17s level, but now makes the step up in age group.
Campbell joined Burnley in September 2023 from St Mirren, where he was in and around the first team set-up at the age of 15.
Since moving to Lancashire he has featured regularly for Andy Farrell’s U21s, playing at centre-back or on the left side of defence.
The Young Scots face Turkey on Tuesday 13th February before playing Latvia three days later, with both games taking place in Umag, Croatia.
The friendlies act as UEFA Euro 2024 Elite Round preparation for Billy Stark’s team, with the tournament taking place in March.
Scotland qualified for the Elite Round in November and have been drawn in Group 5 alongside Czech Republic, Georgia and Italy.
