Ecuadorian winger reviews his first three months in Lancashire

Jeremy Sarmiento has nothing but praise for his current loan spell at Turf Moor and says he is loving his time with the Clarets, after joining the Club on a season-long loan from Brighton & Hove Albion in August.

The forward made the move to Burnley on the final day of the summer transfer window and after spending last season with both Ipswich Town and West Brom on loan, Sarmiento is now relishing his spell in Lancashire and says he is 'learning every day'.

Speaking ahead of Sunday's trip to Norwich, the Ecuadorian international said: "It's a very important one (loan spell) for me I would say, you know of the clubs I've been to, I'm loving it here, the players, the staff, everyone around the club are just great people.

"Having good people around you makes it easier for you to just adapt and you try to get better day by day. I'm still young and I'm always going to be taking it all in and learning every day.

"I'm really enjoying it, in games I try to be myself and just express myself going forward and try to help the team out as much as possible to get the results we want.

"I came here to play and that's what I'm doing, I'm really thankful for the good opportunity and it's just about keeping the consistency now week in week out."

Sarmiento has started the last four games for Scott Parker's men and after playing in a wide role at the beginning of the season, the attacker has played in a more central position recently, which he admits he is enjoying.

"I like to get on the ball and try drive forward and I'm feeling very confident at the moment, I would say in the 10 role I like to receive the ball and look to create for the attackers.

"I feel happy playing in whichever position I'm in, as long as it helps the team and I keep building my confidence and becoming more and more affective week-by-week."

Tuesday night's goalless draw with Derby County left Sarmiento and his teammates frustrated, but the loanee is hoping to 'put it right' on Sunday at Norwich.

"It can be frustrating, but that's how these games go in the moment sometimes. We're a big team with big players, so of course we're going to dominate games.

"We had to pass the ball round a bit more against Derby and we needed to be more ruthless going in the final third, which we know is something we need to improve on.

"It's just how the opponents set-up and wherever we can work them out and try unlock the defence, obviously on Tuesday it didn't work for us but if we keep doing our thing it will come in time and hopefully we can put it right on Sunday."
