Defender Connor Roberts previews Saturday’s trip to Vicarage Road and talks confidence in ability, belief and keeping focused.
Roberts on the mood in camp:
“I think it’s excitement to be honest. We’ve got five games left and anything could happen, but we just want to play the next game.
“We’ve won the last two and got a bit of momentum so if we can keep that going from now until the end of the season, then we’ll be in a good position.”
Roberts on a good month personally:
“I’ve had a mad couple of weeks. I’ve come back into the team, scored the goal [against Southampton] and had the birth of my daughter too. The celebration wasn’t great but I didn’t really think about it to be honest!”
Roberts on his confidence:
“I get confidence from keeping the ball, playing nice passes and working my way into the game.
“I think in the Southampton game, I did that, and it gives me confidence to join in with attacks as well as defending well. It’s not just me that applies to but the rest of the lads so hopefully going forward, we can all keep defending like that.”
Roberts on belief:
“The last two wins have given us more belief and it grows our drive to succeed. The boys are playing with freedom and if everyone plays as well as they can do, then the points will come.”
Roberts on keeping focused:
“I don’t really look at the league table. I just look at the next game and if I get a chance to play, then I try to play the best that I can.
“Hopefully we win and then we move onto the next one. If we win every game between now and the end of the season then we’ll be alright.”
