Burnley secured their second win of the 2022/23 campaign, with an impressive 5-1 victory over Wigan Athletic at the DW Stadium on Saturday.
Jay Rodriguez opened the scoring, with Josh Brownhill doubling the Clarets' lead just 10 minutes later, before Will Keane's penalty just before the break halved the deficit.
A second-half strike from Nathan Tella, for his third goal in two games, doubled Burnley's lead once again, before Brownhill added a fourth in the 86th minute and Bastien just two minutes later.
Vincent Kompany made just the one change from the side that drew 3-3 with Blackpool at Turf Moor last weekend, as Johann Berg Gudmundsson was handed his first start of the season, coming in for the suspended Ian Maatsen.
First half
After an even start in Wigan, with no real opportunities created for either in the opening 15 minutes, it was the Clarets who broke the deadlock.
Vitinho worked well down on the left, before seeing his cross into the area fall to Gudmundsson, before the ball eventually found the feet of Rodriguez, who fired home low past Jamie Jones in front of the 4,700 travelling Clarets behind the goal.

And just 10 minutes later, Kompany’s men had their second and deservedly. Vitinho playing an integral role once again, playing a low cross into the area for Brownhill to rocket home first-time past Jones for his third goal of the campaign.
The hosts searched for a way back into it and came close when defender Jack Whatmough headed just wide of the post from a corner.
However, just five minutes before the break, Wigan were awarded a penalty, after Callum Lang was brought down by Arijanet Muric just inside the area.
And Latics forward Will Keane, brother of former Claret Michael, stepped up to the spot and fired home past Muric to give the home side a lifeline heading into the break.

Second Half
But Kompany’s side came out raring to go and had their third just a few minutes into the second half, as Brownhill turned provider and teed up Tella, who broke into the area and finished coolly past Jones to extend Burnley’s lead.
Gudmundsson’s first appearance in the league, after returning from long-tern injury, came to a holt with just over an hour played, after completing 65 minutes successfully, Darko Churlinov replaced the winger.
The Macedonian attacker was straight into the action at the DW, after weaving into the area and seeing his low strike saved by Jones.
And just five minutes later, the lively Churlinov came close once again, this time seeing his rifled effort fizz just wide of the post.
But Wigan were still pushing for a way back into it, as substitute Magennis saw his close-range header saved well by the hand of Muric.
However, it was the away side who struck once again, as Brownhill cut inside and fired home excellently past Jones once again.
And substitute Bastien then added a fifth with two minutes left on the clock, finding the bottom corner with a low hit strike.
