Burnley extended their magnificent winning run in the Sky Bet Championship with a ninth consecutive victory against Norwich City on Saturday afternoon.
Anass Zaroury opened the scoring at Carrow Road, before a quick double from Vitinho and Hjalmar Ekdal in the second half secured all three points in Norfolk.
Manager Vincent Kompany made three changes from the team that beat West Bromwich Albion last time out in the Sky Bet Championship.
Hjalmar Ekdal was handed a debut in defence replacing Charlie Taylor, with Bailey Peacock-Farrell coming in for the injured Arijanet Muric between the sticks.
Johann Berg Gudmundsson also returned to the starting XI following a short spell on the side-lines in place of Samuel Bastien in midfield.
First Half
Burnley started bright and there was an early opportunity for the visitors, as Nathan Tella stole the ball from Kenny McClean just outside the area before seeing strike towards goal blocked by Grant Hanley’s sliding challenge.
Kompany’s men were dominating the early stages of the clash and had another chance just moments later when Ian Maatsen curled an effort just wide of the post from Zaroury’s cutback.
But with just seven minutes played the Clarets got their deserved opener, as Tim Krul played the ball out from goal into the path of Zaroury who fired it home into the bottom corner and wheeled away towards the travelling faithful.
Norwich then had their first opportunity of the game as Teemu Pukki raced towards the box before picking out Kieron Dowell inside the area, but the former Everton midfielder’s fierce strike was saved excellently by the feet of Peacock-Farrell.
As the first half drew towards a close the Canaries searched for an equaliser but Hanley’s header from a corner sailed just over the crossbar.
Second Half
Following a strong first 45 minutes at Carrow Road, it took just nine minutes into the second half for the Clarets to double their lead.
Vitinho was introduced for Nathan Tella as the visitors won a corner and the Brazilian was there on hand to glance home Gudmundsson’s set-piece with his first touch of the game.
Six minutes later Kompany’s side had their third and it was from another corner, as Ekdal turned in from close range from Maatsen’s ball into the area from the cross.
City pushed to get back into the game, but a resilient Clarets defence ensured the points returned to Lancashire.
