Burnley secured a 1-0 win over Coventry City on Saturday afternoon, thanks to Nathan Tella's goal in the 40th minute at the CBS Arena, extending the Clarets' unbeaten run to 10 matches in the Sky Bet Championship and moving to just two points off the top of the table.
The Clarets took the lead in the second half, as Tella grabbed his fifth goal of the season and the perfectly finished effort proved to be the difference between the two sides.
Vincent Kompany made three changes from the side that drew with Stoke City on Wednesday night, as former Sky Blue loanee Ian Maatsen came in for Connor Roberts, with Anass Zaroury and Bailey Peacock-Farrell replacing Manuel Benson and the injured Arijanet Muric respectively.
First Half
It was an even and quiet opening to the game, with the Clarets’ first effort on goal coming in the 17th minute, as Harwood-Bellis’ towering header found the hands of City keeper Ben Wilson.
Josh Brownhill then tried his luck from range, but his curled effort sailed over the bar, as Kompany’s side searched for an opener.

The visitors, wearing the black and pink third kit for the first time this season, then found their opener five minutes before the break in the Midlands.
Josh Cullen picked out Tella with an excellent dinked pass, who broke into the area and made no mistake of slotting the ball home past Wilson in front of the Clarets travelling faithful, securing his fifth goal of the campaign.
The Sky Blues then came close to an equaliser moments before the break, as Jonathon Panzo met Kasey Palmer’s header at the back post, which rattled off the crossbar, before being cleared away.

Second Half
There was just the one change at the break, as Kompany replaced Beyer with Charlie Taylor in defence, with the German defender picking up a knock during a challenge in the first 45 minutes.
It was Burnley who started on the front foot, enjoying plenty of possession and looking to unlock the City defence for a second of the afternoon.
And with 10 minutes played, the away side came close to adding a second, as Jay Rodriguez’s fierce effort from inside the area rippled the side netting.
On the hour mark, Sky Blues manager Mark Robins turned to his bench and made four changes and a shuffle in formation, as the hosts looked to get back into the game, with minimal chances created throughout.

But again, it was the Clarets who came close to another goal, as Zaroury picked out Vitinho at the back post, who found Jay Rodriguez, whose close-range effort was denied by the legs of Wilson.
And despite late efforts from City to pull back an equaliser, the Burnley defence stood strong to keep the hosts at bay and take home all three points back to Lancashire.
