Nathan Collins’ early goal had the Clarets ahead on 12 minutes before Richarlison’s penalty six-minutes later levelled the scores
A second penalty was awarded to Everton in the opening half’s closing stages, with VAR ruling Aaron Lennon to have fouled Vitaliy Mykolenko.
Burnley roared back to equalise through Jay Rodriguez’s 57th minute having been picked out by Charlie Taylor’s neat pass to get the Clarets back on terms.
And Cornet sent the ground into delirium with his 86th minute goal, after Matej Vydra set him up.
Manager Sean Dyche made three changes to his side’s starting line-up, as Collins, Rodriguez and Maxwel Cornet replaced Kevin Long, Jack Cork and Dwight McNeil.

First-half
The Clarets put early pressure onto the visiting Toffees, as James Tarkowski’s flick on from a set-piece deflected into Josh Brownhill’s path, but his first-time strike was cleared for a corner.
Shortly later, Ashley Westwood bent a rising effort from outside the box which crept just past Jordan Pickford’s right-post.
Burnley led when Cornet’s cornet from the right was met by Collins at the back post to turn beyond Pickford.
But the advantage did not last, when referee Mike Dean awarded a penalty after Anthony Gordon was brought down by Westwood.
Up-stepped Brazil international Richarlison to strike right-footed into the bottom right-corner, sending Nick Pope the wrong way.

Richarlison nearly had his second minutes after his equaliser, having got the better of Connor Roberts, he forced Pope to tip the ball over with a swerving shot.
Collins was later in the right place to deny Dominic Calvert-Lewin being teed up by Richarlison, which the centre-back did well to head back to Pope.
Frank Lampard’s visitors gained the ascendancy in the 41st minute. After a lengthy VAR check on Lennon clipping Mykolenko. Richarlison took responsibility again, and dispatched beyond Pope, again sending him to the opposite side.
Burnley looked for a response, and crosses from Cornet and Tarkowski were claimed by Pickford and Ben Godfrey respectively, as the hosts went into half-time behind.
Second-half
Following the break, Burnley started in a positive fashion. Westwood drive was charged down, while Richarlison and Mykolenko went close for Everton.
Burnley levelled 13 minutes into the half. Taylor surged down the left, beating Jonjo Kenny for pace to deliver a fine low cross, which Rodriguez finished beyond Pickford from close-range.

Just after the hour, Pope was forced to make a fine flow stop down to his right, denying Richarlison’s overhead kick in the box.
Everton threatened twice in quick succession. Firstly, Calvert-Lewin steered a header over and Tarkowski threw himself in the way of Gordon’s goal-bound attempt.
Dyche made his first change with 20 minutes to play, bringing Matt Lowton on in place of Roberts.
Cornet later tested Pickford, thumping a powerful snapshot which had to be pushed over.
Vydra and Dwight McNeil were introduced by Dyche to find an elusive winner.
And Vydra provided the assist for Burnley’s winner on 86 minutes, profiting from Godfrey’s miss-kick to pull the ball back for an unmarked Cornet to power right-footed, high into Pickford’s net.
