Surpassing a century of points, Burnley ensured it would be a winning end to a phenomenal Sky Bet Championship campaign as they signed off with a 3-0 victory over Cardiff City at Turf Moor.
The Clarets dominated throughout on home soil safe in the knowledge that a party could start post-match with the league title firmly in their grasp. Josh Brownhill, Ashley Barnes & Scott Twine all got their names on the scoresheet against the Bluebirds to add to that jubilant atmosphere.
Boss Vincent Kompany made four changes to his side for the final day, with Barnes spearheading the attack and captaining the team on his last appearance for the Club at the culmination of a near decade-long stay.
Elsewhere, Arijanet Muric, Johann Berg Gudmundsson & Anass Zaroury returned from the off.
First Half
Having led the Clarets out to a Guard of Honour from the visitors, frontman Barnes had the first chance of the contest three minutes in as some neat play from Connor Roberts and Brownhill set up a volley that went over.

Soon after, ‘keeper Muric produced a fine reaction stop to deny Cardiff’s Connor Wickham at point-blank range, though the striker was in an offside position anyway.
Bluebirds defender Andy Rinomhota then glanced a cross inches wide of his own goal, while Jaden Philogene saw a powerful effort held at the other end.
Twine would see a low strike well kept out by Ryan Allsop before the opener eventually came for Burnley on 27 minutes through Brownhill.
The midfielder had the simple task of tapping home from virtually on the line as Zaroury picked him out following some slack defending from Rinomhota.
And just four minutes later, it was two as Barnes got his goal to mark a momentous day all round.
Brownhill delivered from the right, and when a Bluebirds defender chested it into the path of the striker, he made no mistake with a powerful strike first-time on the half volley.
Second Half
Barnes turned provider early on at the restart, sliding in Twine, but he fired over one-on-one with Allsop.
On 57 minutes though, the same man was felled at the edge of the box by City’s Joe Ralls, and stepped up to curl an inch-perfect free-kick home in trademark style, making it 3-0.
Brownhill curled a free-kick of his own wide of the far post from out on the left wing minutes later, while substitute Sory Kaba twice fired over in quick succession for the visitors.
To a standing ovation from the sold-out Turf Moor crowd, Barnes was withdrawn 15 minutes from time, bringing an end to his 293rd competitive appearance as a Claret.
In the midst of a flurry of changes for both teams, Kaba then brought a reaction stop out of Muric before the shot stopper clung onto a tame header at a set-piece.
One of those off the bench, Jay Rodriguez tried his luck from range to no avail in the closing stages, while fellow substitute Nathan Tella saw a low drive kept out by Allsop.
3-0 it ended as Burnley took their tally to 101 points for the season, finishing off in style.
