Burnley fell to their first defeat of the season at Turf Moor on Saturday after Queens Park Rangers ran out 2-1 winners in the Sky Beg Championship clash.
Sam Field opened the scoring for the visitors just before the hour mark, with Manuel Benson then curling home an equaliser in the 72nd minute.
Substitute Chris Martin then stole the winning goal for the R’s with just four minutes to play to end the host’s’ unbeaten home record.
Manager Vincent Kompany made five changes from the side that drew 2-2 with Rotherham United on Tuesday night.
Arijanet Muric, Taylor Harwood-Bellis, Josh Brownhill, Ashley Barnes and Manuel Benson all came into the XI replacing Bailey Peacock-Farrell, Ameen Al-Dakhil, Scott Twine, Vitinho and Lyle Foster.
First Half
The Clarets started bright and came close to opening the scoring just three minutes in when Maatsen saw his low drilled effort from the far post hacked off the line by Dickie.
Shortly after, Barnes then struck the ball just wide of the post from Brownhill’s cut-back into the area as the hosts began to apply the pressure.
Burnley were dominating and with less than 10 minutes on the clock Benson then rattled the crossbar with a thumping header, only for Barnes to then have his follow-up effort blocked on the line by Dickie once again.
Benson and Barnes then combined once again as the Belgian winger cut in from the right this time and curled a lovely ball onto the head of Barnes to glance just over the crossbar.
Harwood-Bellis was next to get in on the action after steering the ball inches wide of the post from Brownhill’s swinging cross into the area.
Second Half
After a first half of minimal chances, the Hoops then silenced Turf Moor just over 10 minutes into the second half when skipper Field latched onto a defensive clearance and fired in a half-volley from close range past Muric.
Kompany turned to his bench and introduced Rodriguez and Twine for Barnes and Gudmundsson as the Clarets looked to for a way back into the clash.
Rodriguez then came close to snatching an equaliser with 20 minutes to play when the striker saw his powerful header caught by the hands of Dieng.
But just three minutes later the Clarets did have their equaliser when Benson struck with his trademark effort cutting inside and curling it home into the far corner.
Rangers then snatched a late goal through substitute Martin, when the forward glanced home from close range with three minutes left.
