Burnley came back from behind to earn a point in their first home game of the Sky Bet Championship season with a 1-1 draw against Luton Town.
Dan Potts had handed the visitors an early lead before Josh Brownhill netted a well-taken leveller six minutes after the restart, scoring his first-ever goal at Turf Moor in the process.
Boss Vincent Kompany stuck with the same starting lineup from the opening game win at Huddersfield Town, with newest recruit Manuel Benson named on the bench in place of Scott Twine.
Luton manager Nathan Jones meanwhile made just one change from their goalless draw at home Birmingham City last time out. Harry Cornick came into the side with summer signing Carlton Morris dropping to the bench.
Last season’s Play-off semi-finalists also welcomed Luke Berry and Reece Burke onto their substitutes list with Dion Pereira and veteran striker Cameron Jerome dropping out of the matchday squad.
First Half
After a quick start to the contest, with the ball bouncing about following a long throw from Cornick, Potts fired Luton ahead from close range five minutes in.
Soon after, Ian Maatsen’s shot was deflected wide to earn the Clarets a corner, though Dara Costelloe could only guide a header over the bar having met Brownhill’s delivery at the back post.

Connor Roberts also had a cross-come-shot palmed away by Town goalkeeper Ethan Horvath just before the half-hour mark, while Luke Freeman sent an effort well over the bar from distance at the other end.
Brownhill then whipped a shot at goal wide before the half time whistle, with the visitors still holding their one-goal advantage come the interval.
Second Half
Replacing Samuel Bastien at the break, Benson made his Burnley bow less than 48 hours after joining the Club from Royal Antwerp.
Wing back Maatsen struck over from range with just 22 seconds of the second half gone, a sign of Burnley’s intent to get themselves on level terms.
The loanee came close to doing just that again minutes later with a low driven effort which was tipped behind by Horvath, and from the resulting corner, the equaliser did come.
Brownhill curled home from the edge of the box after the set piece had been kept alive, putting Burnley in the ascendancy and adding to an electric atmosphere from an almost sell-out crowd.
The Clarets then saw Josh Cullen’s dangerous cross well held by Horvath before Ashley Barnes headed over.
Striker Barnes was involved again with little more than 15 minutes remaining as his clever dinked pass over the top found Benson who took aim at goal from inside the area but couldn’t guide a shot on target.
On 81 minutes, the frontman came agonisingly close oncemore, flicking an effort just wide with Roberts’ long throw causing issues for the Luton backline.
Brazilian Vitinho was introduced from the bench with eight minutes of the contest remaining for his own Turf Moor debut, and the Clarets continued to search for a winner, but Kompany’s side had to settle for a point come the full time whistle.
