Burnley were denied a third consecutive win in the Sky Bet Championship, after substitute Johann Berg Gudmundsson saw his second half strike cancelled out by Scott Hogan's equaliser for the Blues just moments later.
In a tight affair in Birmingham, Gudmundsson was introduced in the 70th minute and made an instant impact, after firing home just four minutes later, but City forward Hogan then levelled things up just five minutes after.
Vincent Kompany made two changes from the side that beat Swansea on the weekend, with the injured defensive duo of Ian Maatsen and Jordon Beyer making way for Connor Roberts and Charlie Taylor.
First Half
The Clarets’ first effort on goal came with six minutes played, as Harwood-Bellis headed Roberts’ cross to the back-post just over the bar.
City then came close themselves, as Trusty fired a header wide of Muric’s goal from Chong’s wide free kick.
Burnley’s best opportunity in the lively start then fell to Rodriguez, who turned Brownhill’s cross onto the outside of the post, before being cleared from danger.
Kompany’s men were still pushing for the opener as the half hour mark approached, with Vitinho this time coming close, after firing over the bar from just inside the box.

After an end-to-end opening 45 minutes in Birmingham, the two sides headed into the break level and goalless.
Second Half
The first chance of the second period came to the hosts, as Bielik’s rocket of an effort sailed just wide of Muric’s goal.
Chances for both sides were minimal heading into the final 20 minutes, as Kompany turned to his bench and introduced Gudmundsson, replacing Cork.
And as the visitors pushed to break the deadlock, Rodriguez came inches away from latching onto Brownhill’s fizzing cross into the area.
But after being on the pitch just four minutes, Gudmundsson made an instant impact, cutting into the area and curling the ball home into the far corner, past a stranded Ruddy between the City sticks, to give the Clarets the lead.
However, the lead lasted just five minutes, as Hogan broke free in the box to turn home Hall’s low cross and pull the scores level.

And despite late efforts from the visitors to steal a late winner, the City defence managed to keep the Clarets at bay and ensure the honours were even in the Midlands.
Burnley's unbeaten run now extends to 13 matches, next in action on Saturday at Sunderland in the Sky Bet Championship.
