The Clarets took a much needed point in North London after a hard-fought goalless draw at the Emirates Stadium.
Manager Sean Dyche handed Welsh international Connor Roberts his first Premier League start, whilst Josh Brownhill started for the Clarets, with Jay Rodriguez and Matej Vydra leading the line.
Donning their blue away trim, the Clarets, backed by a loud support from Lancashire, had the first attempt on goal in the eighth minute, as Dwight McNeil nearly caught Aaron Ramsdale at his near post with a looping shot from the left channel.
From the resulting corner, Ben Mee, on the half volley, hit the ball over the cross bar, a positive spell for the visitors.
Arsenal’s first attack to threat Nick Pope’s goal came on the quarter hour mark when Alexandre Lacazette weaved his way through the Burnley midfield, but his effort was wayward.

Burnley nearly capitalised on a dropped ball from Ramsdale after a corner kick from McNeil. Straight away, at the other end, Arsenal attacked with Pope denying Martin Odegaard from close range with a great save, and on the follow up, Ben Mee made an equally as important block from Gunners skipper Lacazette.
Burnley saw both Ashley Westwood and Josh Brownill booked by referee David Coote, with former Bristol City captain Brownhill now suspended for our Premier League clash against Watford at Turf Moor in two weeks time.
Ten minutes before half time, winger McNeil hit a shot from 25-yards wide of the post after a loose ball was knocked down by Vydra.
McNeil was causing problems though for the Gunners, with a couple of promising runs and strikes on goal during the first half. His best run came as he guided the ball past two defenders but ran out of space with Ramsdale quickly closing him down.

England international Bukayo Saka, had the last chance of the half, curling the ball wide of Pope’s right-hand post.
The second half started with Arsenal seeing plenty of the ball, but the first attempt went the way of the visitors when McNeil’s shot from the left hand side of the box was pushed away by Ramsdale for a corner.
Arsenal won a soft free-kick on the edge of the box, as McNeil was alleged to have fouled Saka. Number eight Odegaard stepped up to take the free-kick, as he did at Turf Moor earlier this season to score the match winning goal, but this time his shot hit the roof of Pope’s net.
Pope made a fine stop to deny Emile Smith-Rowe in the 63rd minute, as a clever corner routine caught the Clarets out, but Arsenal’s attacking midfielder was denied by a strong Pope palm.

Arsenal were starting to put the pressure on and the London side missed a glorious chance as Lacazette side footed wide from a Smith-Rowe cross.
Burnley’s first change came with 82 minutes on the clock as Johann Gudmundsson was introduced for Rodriguez.
In the dying embers of the game, Gabriel headed straight into Pope's arms as Burnley continued to defend strongly.
However, the Clarets held strong and were rewarded with a well-earned point in North London.
Burnley: Pope, Roberts, Tarkowski, Mee, Pieters, McNeil, Brownhill, Westwood, Lennon, Vydra, Rodriguez (Gudmundsson 82). Unused subs: Hennessey, Long, Bardsley, Collins, Thomas, Stephens, Cork, Lowton.
