Burnley’s Easter double-header begins on Good Friday – 7th April – with a trip to the North East where Middlesbrough are the opponents at the Riverside Stadium (8pm KO).
The Clarets head north with an 18-game unbeaten record in the Sky Bet Championship following last Friday’s goalless draw with Sunderland at Turf Moor.
At the time of writing, Vincent Kompany’s side sit 17 points clear in the automatic promotion places with ‘Boro themselves in 3rd & Luton Town in 4th – both of whom on the same points tally - having seven games remaining.
Accordingly, should Luton fail to win at Millwall on Friday lunchtime, Burnley could be promoted at the Riverside with three points of their own.

Middlesbrough
As previously mentioned, ‘Boro sit 3rd at the time of writing, though it hasn’t always been plain sailing for the North East outfit this season.
Starting the season with Chris Wilder in charge, the Reds had only won two of their first 11 league games of the campaign by the time he departed in early October.

Ex-Manchester United midfielder Michael Carrick took charge a few weeks later for his first permanent senior role in management. And since, he’s seen his side climb up the table with 16 wins from his 23 Championship matches at the helm so far.
In their last outing at Huddersfield Town however, ‘Boro suffered just a fifth defeat in that same timeframe with the relegation-threatened Terriers running out 4-2 victors. They had led 1-0 at the break in Yorkshire, but conceded just 22 seconds after the restart and didn’t manage to stem the hosts’ tide from there on in.
The last time we met
Despite facing off competitively for the first time in 1900, there have been only 69 meetings between the two clubs ahead of Friday.

The Clarets have won the most of those, victors on 26 occasions including prior to Christmas at Turf Moor when Kompany’s men took all three points courtesy of a 3-1 margin.
Manuel Benson struck a brace that evening after Duncan Watmore had given the visitors the lead, with Jonathan Howson also netting an own goal.
Burnley’s last win at the Riverside came in the FA Cup in January 2016 when Rouwen Hennings & Stephen Ward were on target. The last league win up in the North East against ‘Boro was in January 2012. Jay Rodriguez netted that day alongside Kieran Trippier.
