Burnley manager Sean Dyche has signed a four-year extension keeping him at Turf Moor until at least 2025. He is the longest serving manager in the Premier League. "It is nice to be able to get this deal completed and now look towards the future of this football club, and its constant evolution," Dyche said.
"It was an important summer for us to add talent and depth to the team, but the work doesn't stop there. As a club we're about developing and improving players, and the environment we foster here is so important to that."
Ahead of the game against Arsenal, the Burnley boss knows results need to improve.
“Performances are actually considerably better than the beginning of last season, I think.
“It can come in fits and starts, at the beginning of last season, everyone was saying our strikers weren’t scoring, and I said they would do, and they did do.”
Dyche has plenty of respect for Arsenal.
“They are still a good side. They’ve still got talent. They are obviously a club in a large transition from a management point of view, a player point of view. Look it’s very difficult, it’s difficult at all levels.
“We still don’t take the fact that they’ve had a tough start for granted. Trust me. They are a good side. They’ve got some really strong individual players. They are trying to bond it together as a team. We’ve got to continue looking at what we do.”

Arsenal beat Norwich City 1-0 at home last week to register their first Premier League win of the season. Captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored the only goal. The Gabon international striker got a hat-trick in their 6-0 win at the Hawthorns in the Carabao Cup.
Mikel Arteta was quick to congratulate Dyche on his new deal.
"I think he deserves huge credit," said Arteta.
"With the resources he has, the way he has established the club in the Premier League and how he has done it over the years - and he has stuck to his beliefs and done it his own way and created a unique identity on the club, which is something that is very difficult to do in this league, so credit to him and congratulations."
Arteta believes Burnley haven’t got the results their performances have deserved.
"They had some difficulties to get results, during games that I watched, they have been pretty unlucky in certain moments because they have moments of real dominance and they end up losing matches," the Arsenal chief said.
"We know how tough it is to go to Burnley, we know the game we can expect there and we will be prepared for that.”
The Gunners finished eighth last season and missed out on European competition for the first time since 1995/96. Arteta is missing midweek action.
“In the past few days, it was hurting to put the television on and see those teams in there and not see Arsenal there, it was painful.”
