Burnley Football Club are pleased to announce that Brandon Pouani has signed his first professional contract with the Clarets.

The young winger has agreed a two-and-a-half-year deal that runs until the summer of 2027.

Having put pen to paper, he said: “It’s really exciting and I’m very thankful for this opportunity.

“When I joined Burnley I saw a good pathway and enjoyed playing the game I love, which is the most important thing.

“My family are very proud of me and want me to keep trying my best, learning from Tony (Philliskirk – U18s Manager) and Matt (Walsh – U18s Assistant Manager).

“Hopefully I can continue to impress by scoring as many goals and creating as many chances as possible.”

Having been with Manchester City for the entirety of his youth, Pouani joined Burnley from the Cityzens at U16s level.

While still 16 years old, he featured several times for the U21 and U18s in the second half of last season.

Having signed scholarship terms at the start of 2024/25, Pouani has been a regular in Tony Philliskirk’s U18s team this term.

The winger, who turned 17 earlier this month, has scored six goals this season including braces against Bristol City and Coventry City.

Academy Manager Chris Casper added: “This contract is testament to Brandon’s hard work on and off the pitch since he’s joined us.

“He’s adapted to life as a full-time footballer really well this season and I’d like to congratulate him on what is a proud moment for him and his family.

“I look forward to seeing him continue his development in the coming months and years.”
