Stephen Ward
The Dublin-born defender began his career with Bohemians in the Irish Premier Division before joining Wolves in January 2007. Ward won the Championship Player of the Month in his first full month at the Club after scoring three goals in his first six games. The full-back went on to spend seven seasons at Molineux, playing an integral role in the 2008/09 Championship winning campaign where Ward featured 42 times. The Irishman departed Wolves in the summer of 2014 and joined the newly promoted Clarets in the Premier League. Despite Ward playing just nine games in his first season at Turf Moor due to injury, the defender went on to be a fan favourite in Burnley. The left-back was a key figure in the Clarets’ return to the top-flight in the 2015/16 title-winning campaign and helped Burnley secure UEFA Europa League football in 2018 before leaving in 2019 with a total of 113 appearances during his five year stay in Lancashire.
