Burnley Football Club can confirm that Oli Pimlott has signed his first professional contract with the Clarets.

The 18-year-old has agreed a two-year deal until the summer of 2027, with the Club holding the option to extend it by a further 12 months.

On signing the contract, he said: “I’m over the moon. I’ve worked hard ever since I joined and it’s an honour to be given a professional contract.

“The coaches, staff and players are great and there’s a good bond within the squad. I love it here and I’m really happy.

“Over the last few months I settled into the U21s group quite well, and I feel comfortable at that level.

“I work hard on and off the pitch and hopefully I can continue to improve next season.”

Born in Greater Manchester, Pimlott joined Burnley at U14s level and signed scholarship terms ahead of the 2023/24 season.

He enjoyed a successful 2024/25 campaign, playing a key role in the U18s’ Professional Development League North title victory.

In the second half of the season he regularly stepped up to Andy Farrell’s U21s squad too, with 12 of his 14 appearances in all competitions being starts.

The left-back netted his first U21s goal in a Good Friday victory at Crewe Alexandra, surging forwards to win a penalty and subsequently slot home his team’s fifth goal of the afternoon from 12 yards.

His club form has earned him international recognition too, as the teenager linked up with Scotland U19s for the first time last month at a three-day training camp.

Academy Manager Chris Casper added: “Oli is fully deserving of this contract after a strong season at both U18s and U21s levels.

“He has settled into the left-back role and looked comfortable in defence and attack, with his pace and crossing ability being key attributes to his game.

“I look forward to seeing how he takes to the PL2 games programme and I’m confident the experience will only benefit his development.”
