Burnley's U18s and U21s teams completed a successful week-long training camp in St Andrews in Scotland.
Across seven days, the Clarets played four games amongst both sides, and players mixed and formed bonds ahead of their respective 2023/24 seasons.
The U18s went unbeaten across both of their matches, beating Dundee 1-0 and Burnley’s affiliate club, Ayr United, 4-0.
As well as results on the pitch, Coach Tony Philliskirk was keen to express how important the week was off the pitch.
He said: “From this week, I think they should take away the importance of friendships off the pitch and how that leads onto the pitch and the spirit that we’re trying to integrate as a group with both the first and second years.

“Ultimately this year there were games where the team was mixed with both age groups.
“We’ve got quite a few new lads in the first-year group as well and getting them to mix and feel confident and comfortable and also be happy to enjoy the environment.
“They also have to realise that it’s tough as professional football is full-time hard work.
“But hopefully they’ve seen in the two games that we’ve played that hard work aligned with ability means positive results and that’s what we’ve certainly gained this week.”
The U21s side enjoyed a 5-1 thrashing of Hibernian before coming just short in the final game of the week, losing out 5-3 to Rangers in an extremely competitive game.

And Coach Charlie Adam, similarly to Philliskirk, spoke of the positive affects the week had both on and off the pitch for the players.
He added: “It’s been brilliant, we’ve been able to spend some time with the lads for the first time since I’ve come into the football club.
“We’ve been able to have six days together, with the U18s as well, and we saw some good performances from the U18s when they’ve come up to the U21s.
“One thing we try to get together with the way we like to play, is that the senior lads in our group liase with the younger ones and try and help them and develop them into the way we want to play.
“The group has been a mixture all week, and they’ve been in and around each other and I think the lads have got on really well.
“Hopefully the lads have taken the positives from the week and can learn and work on things going forward for the start of the season in a few weeks’ time.”
