The Professional Footballers’ Association (PFA) is breaking new ground at the 50th iteration of its awards ceremony, marking the occasion with three new PFA Players' Player of the Year prizes for EFL Championship, League One and League Two.
The Clarets Championship winning 2022/23 campaign secured a return to the top-flight and for his important work in the middle of the park with goals and assists, midfielder Josh Brownhill is one of six Championship players to be nominated in the PFA Championship Players' Player of the Year category.
Midfielder Brownhill featured 41 times for the Clarets last season, netting 7 goals and 10 assists in all competitions. Joining him in the PFA Championship Players' Player of the Year category are Nathan Tella who spent last year with the Clarets, Middlesbrough’s Chuba Akpom, Iliman Ndiaye for his campaign at Sheffield United, Luton Town’s Carlton Morris and Viktor Gyokeres for last season's Coventry City campaign.
Keeper Lawrence Vigouroux has also been nominated in the League Two PFA Players' Player of the Year category having kept 24 clean sheets in 45 appearances last season for Leyton Orient.
The winners will be announced on Tuesday 29th August at the 50th PFA Awards.
