Sean Dyche is looking for another decent performance – and this time the points to go with it when the Clarets take on Leeds United.
Dyche’s men will be looking for their first win of the season as they face the Yorkshiremen at Turf Moor on Sunday afternoon (KO 2pm).
And Dyche wants his side to reap some rewards for their efforts as the Clarets look to sign off for the international break on a high.
“Everyone wants to get the win on the board – for every team, no matter if they’re top, middle or bottom,” said the Burnley boss.
“We’ve had spells, including last year, when that hasn’t happened. It’s more about keeping your belief in the performance levels.
“I think we’ve actually performed reasonably well so far, and in pre-season. But there’s no naivety to my words. You’ve got to turn that into

results. “Every manager – top, middle or bottom – would take a lucky one, but ideally you want to win by design and that’s what we’re looking to do.
“We want to win with good performances. And I think we’ll need one on Sunday because Leeds are a good outfit.”
Leeds have collected one point from their opening two games and, like the Clarets, advanced in the Carabao Cup in mid-week.
Marcelo Bielsa’s side completed the double over Burnley last season in their first top-flight campaign in 16 years.
But the Clarets could count themselves unlucky to lose to a penalty at Elland Road on an afternoon of contentious decisions and were then beaten at home the game after securing Premier League safety in May.
And Dyche is not over-thinking the Clarets’ start just two games into the new campaign.

“We’ve had a couple of seasons where it’s been tough at the beginning and it can happen – especially when the team’s like ours,” added Dyche, whose side waited eight games for their first win last season before surging to safety.
“It’s unlikely for the super-powers, but it does happen now and again.
“But, generally, there’s a mish-mash of teams who all have to fight to get those early points on the board and keep your resolve if you don’t.
“I think we’ve shown we can do that. I’ve always said it’s a season’s work. The players know that.
“We try and keep the ups and downs and the ins and outs of what we do pretty steady.
“They were a tough couple of first games – more the Brighton game where for 10 minutes we let the game change.
“At Liverpool it wasn’t so much that. They’re a good outfit and they won through in the end.
“At Newcastle, we had to dig and fight to see the game through and then won it on penalties.
“It’s been a bit of a mixed bag but the feeling is always decent in the camp, so I’m not too worried about that. I’m more thinking about how we can perform to beat a good Leeds side.”
