Scott Parker has issued a rallying cry ahead of Saturday's Premier League fixture against West Ham United at Turf Moor.

Ahead of what Parker admits is a 'massive game', the Clarets gaffer insists this fixture is 'a fight we must all own', on and off the pitch.

LET'S BE DIFFERENT

"Take football out of this - in difficult moments, you need to feel a love; you need to feel a support; you need to feel a commitment that everyone has an understanding of what we need to do.

"That's my biggest message at this moment in time.

"I understand there are frustrations, of course I do, but let's get behind this group.

"Let's embrace the challenge. Let's be different.

"Wouldn't it be amazing if we all came together for 90 minutes. Let's go, together. Let's be different."

HAMMER TIME

"They've had a big improvement over the last few weeks, following their investment at the start of the window.

"It'll be a different side to the one we faced at the London Stadium earlier this season, largely down to personnel, but it's going to be a tough game regardless.

"Every game is massive for us - it's something we want to embrace."

RESILIENCE REQUIRED

"The facts are, at the start of this season, everyone associated with us, knew we were going to face a massive challenge.

"At this present moment, we are in the midst of this challenge.

"I asked the players in Portugal in pre-season for one word they felt was going to be relevant for us this - the main answer was resilience.

"That's exactly what we're going to need now, in this moment, and for what's to come.

"We've got to be resilient beyond belief - that's the only way we're going to get through this."

LOOKING FORWARD

"We're only looking forward - what's happened in the past has happened.

"It's a big game on Saturday - we need to respond. This fixture demands a fight we must all own - an ownership and togetherness that we all, collectively, commit to.

"We've reflected, we've re-booted and we're looking ahead to Saturday. We owe everyone a response to Monday.

"Football is like any other business - as a human being, you have to go and take your body to an extreme place. To be able to do that, in these testing times, you need to have a clear focus and an element of freedom, and that's been something we've focused on this week."
