Clarets boss looks ahead to Selhurst Park trip

Scott Parker spoke to the media today (Tuesday) ahead of Burnley's midweek trip to Selhurst Park - the home of Crystal Palace - in the Premier League.

Here's what the Clarets gaffer had to say ahead of the clash against the current FA Cup holders in South London.

IN IT TOGETHER

"We're a together group here.

"That's something that is engrained in this football club - at the training ground, at the stadium, in everyone around the place.

"We are responsible and accountable for the situation, for sure, but we're in it together. There's no finger pointing.

"We're all hurting, but there's still a lot of football to be played. People will write us off, or have maybe already written us off, but that's not the attitude or the mindset that we're adopting here."

A DATE AT THE PALACE

"It'll be a tough game on Wednesday night.

"Palace are a good side, well coached, with some fine individual talent - but they're a team, that's their main strength.

"It's a tough place to go, but we're looking forward to it.

"I often say to the players that as a young boy, all you ever dreamed about was running out at a packed stadium in the Premier League - this is another opportunity to do that.

"It soon passes you by - so seize the opportunity, don't let it slip, and go with full force and see what we get."

THE FIGHT GOES ON

"The day, or the hour or the minute I feel I'm not the right man, I'll be the first to shake someone's hand on it.

"I'd be very comfortable with that , and that's because I care deeply about this football club, deeply about this group of players - and if I feel that I can't affect that or I'm a hindrance on that, then for sure that would be the case.

"There's a reality about where we are and what we need to do - it's a humongous challenge the Premier League. We're in that reality now - but there's a clear understanding of the situation.

"We'll fight through this horrible situation, we'll keep going."

"I've still got a decision to make, in terms of when he goes in.
