Clarets boss Scott Parker is looking forward to Saturday's FA Cup encounter with Millwall following what he described as a 'positive result' against Manchester United midweek.
Speaking to the media, Parker spoke about freshening up the squad, gave an update on some injuries and what he is expecting from Alex Neil's Lions side.
REACTION TO MANCHESTER UNITED RESULT
“I think I said it after the game; it was a positive result for us. More importantly was the reaction that we needed from the game and that’s been more evident – certainly looking over the game. We needed a big reaction.
“I’m really pleased with how we came though the game, the character and resilience that we showed. That’s going to be needed in abundance.
“While of course there’s a lot more that you need in the Premier League other than just a resilience - a battling spirit, a fight and togetherness - that needs to be a given for us and long may that continue.”
FRESHENING UP THE SQUAD FOR THE CUP
“For sure we’ll freshen it up for the weekend. We need to. Just for the sheer volume of games that we’ve had in this short period. I think some may need a little rest to freshen up, give other players the opportunity. So, this weekend we’ll definitely be looking to change things round a little bit.
“Axel Tuanzebe came back yesterday and trained today. We’ll make a call on whether he’s involved tomorrow.
“Zian won’t make the squad tomorrow. He’s progressing well, he’s hopefully not too far away but tomorrow comes a bit too early for him.”
MILLWALL EXPECTATIONS
“We’re going into this game fully prepared like we always do. No shortcuts in this, I’ll pick a team that will go out there and fundamentally want to win this game. That’s exactly the aim and to go through to the next round.
“I expect a really strong game. I've huge respect for Alex and the job he’s done at various clubs. I’ve come across him many a time, playing up against him. I know for one every time I do come up against him and his team’s there’s a certain fight there and some quality there as well that you need to be prepared for.
“They’re having a very good season, tough, tough opposition for us.
“We’ll be fully prepared for the battle and the stresses that they’re going to pose on us.”
