Scott Parker met the media on Tuesday ahead of Burnley's Premier League showdown against Manchester United on Wednesday evening.

Much of the talk on the eve of the Turf Moor clash was on the Clarets' opponents tomorrow night, with Ruben Amorim replaced as United boss by Interim Head Coach, Darren Fletcher, less than 24 hours ago.

OPPOSING VIEW

"Nothing surprises you in football. Of course it changes our preparation, in terms of what we could be up against.

"We have done a lot of work in the last 24 hours to navigate around how things could look, but the full focus has been on us really.

"We are looking forward to this game because of the magnitude of it, because of the current situation we're in - this is the next game that we can try to change the cycle that we're currently in - and the reaction we need to bring to put right the wrongs from the weekend."

"We’re only looking forward – what’s happened in the past is in the past. This fixture demands a fight we all own – an ownership and a togetherness that we all commit to.

"There’s been a lot of home truths for us all this week, but we’re united, we’re focused, and we’re going to fight tooth and nail to avenge this run of results. We owe our supporters a response to Saturday.

"I get that's sometimes very difficult because of the position we find ourselves in at present, but all I ask is, let's be that fan-base that all comes together for 90 minutes of football.

"Everyone can have an opinion at full-time, but for this young group, more than ever we need every bit of the Clarets fan-base throughout the 90 minutes.

"We cross a line first and foremost on a matchday wanting to please our fans - that never changes.

"We need every bit of our fans' support, our drive is to please them - and I hope we can do that on Wednesday night."

FIGHTING ON

"Sometimes you have to go through pain and adversity. Sometimes things aren't how you want them to be.

"At this present moment in time, that's certainly the case. The aspirations of what we want to be and the results we want to achieve are not there.

"There is no magic wand and you have to fall back on certain things at times like this, and that's what I'm constantly doing, for sure.
