Clarets boss looks ahead to Craven Cottage clash

Head Coach Scott Parker spoke to the media on Friday afternoon ahead of the Clarets' Premier League fixture against Fulham this weekend.

Here's what he had to say as Burnley prepare for a 3pm kick-off at Craven Cottage on Saturday afternoon.

FACING FULHAM

"I'm looking forward to going back there and seeing some familiar faces - but my focus is very much on us.

"They're a good side, with a brilliant coach, with a team that has been together for some time.

"They've some fine individual talent too, they're recruited very well and have established themselves at this level, so we know we're going to face a stern test down there.

"They hurt us from two set-plays and a counter-attacking goal at Turf Moor, and you can see the quality that they have, and of course they're a strong outfit at Craven Cottage too.

"But like I said, we go there with one thought - and that's to bring the best version of ourselves to try and get a positive result."

CAPITAL GAINS

"We've had some positives on the road in the capital this season.

"The win at Crystal Palace and the draw against Chelsea in recent visits to London - two really good results for us.

"We'll need to be at our best to get another good result this weekend, but we've prepared well and we're looking forward to going down there and hopefully getting a positive result."

POINTS TO PLAY FOR

"We've still got a chance. This squad has a resilience and a mentality to keep going.

"There’s 24 points still to play for and that’s got to be the way we look at this, collectively, to stay in the fight.

"We can look at this and think we're dead and buried, but that's not the way I'm looking at, or this squad is looking at it.

"That's a message I am constantly driving into this group of players."

STAYING POSITIVE

"The atmosphere in the squad is generally positive.

"Of course, it's challenging to maintain that and it can be tough because of the dynamics of what we're facing, but that's never ever really been the case here.

"The squad are constantly trying to improve and get results."
