Burnley boss Scott Parker is looking forward to getting to work with new signing James Ward-Prowse - after the West Ham United midfielder put pen to paper on a loan deal until the end of the season on Wednesday evening.
Speaking 24 hours after the England international signed on the dotted line, Parker expressed his delight at bringing the former Southampton ace on board for the remainder of the campaign.
"We had a really good conversation - and the various people I spoke to about James were 100% positive, in terms of the person and the player," said Parker.
"He's someone I've admired for a long time and with the injury to Josh (Cullen), it's a really good addition to the squad."
Parker added: "At this present moment in time, we need players who are ready-made and know what's needed and want to make a positive impression - James ticks all those boxes.
"He brings a different dynamic to our current midfield options - his quality speaks for itself.
"His set-pieces are rightly praised - he's an absolute expert, world class, which we've seen over the course of many Premier League seasons - but he brings so much more than that.
"He brings a wealth of experience, which we need for the challenge that lies ahead of us.
"He also brings a calmness and a nous around what's going to be needed.
"Even after one session today, you can see the quality he has, and that can only aid us as a group.
"I'm really looking forward to working with him in the second half of the season."
