Head Coach Scott Parker admitted there were lots of positives to take from the draw at Pride Park and had high praise for his side's work of dealing with the league's most dangerous set-piece side.

The Clarets did have chances to secure the win and take the three points home, but the resilient defence of Derby ensured the points were shared in a tight contest on Tuesday night.

Speaking post-match, Parker acknowledged the test he knew his team would face tonight: "It was a tough, tough battle. I thought we started really well, especially the first 35 minutes.

"We just couldn't quite get that goal, but I thought we quietened the crowd down and took the sting out of the atmosphere, of what is a really tough place to come and get results.

"We knew what we were going to face. It's a way of playing that causes lots of problems, direct balls, throw-ins and we needed to be solid to come away with anything tonight and I thought we were exactly that.

"I thought we defended really well throughout the 90 minutes, we just couldn't quite get our noses in front, but we came here with the full intention of winning and there's plenty of positives to bring home with us."

The result sees Burnley 28 games unbeaten in the Sky Bet Championship and a 29th clean sheet of the campaign secured, which Parker described as exceptional.

"Like I said, we've been exceptional for the majority of this season really and we come here tonight to give us a platform to walk out of with a point, and it's been vitally important.

"This one's boxed off now. There's five left and the most important thing now is we move on to Norwich, which is another massive game for us now on Friday."

Striker Lyle Foster was forced off with an injury just minutes after coming on and Parker admits it doesn't look positive for the South African forward.

"It was his shoulder. It doesn't look good, to be honest with you, so we'll find out a little bit more tomorrow.

"We'll scan him first thing tomorrow morning, and we'll have a bit more of a clearer idea, but early part is he doesn't look too good."
