Newly appointed boss Scott Parker is hoping to bring his valuable knowledge & experience alongside the ‘key values’ from a marvellous playing career and impressive managerial background into his time at Turf Moor.
The former Bournemouth and Fulham manager discussed the importance of using his upbringing from growing up in London all the way to captaining England and the aim to ‘install’ that within his Clarets squad to be successful.
“Look, there’s three teams out of 24 in the league this year that are going to be successful and the ratios and numbers are against you in that sense, but there’s some key ingredients that I’ve learnt in 20 years of playing the game and the three as a coach and that’s something I need to install.
“After 20 years of playing and being a young lad that was brought up on a council estate in London, I’ve learnt some key values that have been bred in me and stuck with me throughout.
“They have given me an unbelievable career and it’s them ingredients that I need to bring across here now and they are probably parallel to some Burnley fans and what they stand for.
“We can talk about tactics and philosophy, but first and foremost we need to have core values as a team and that is the main job here at this current time. It’s now about bringing all them experiences and knowledge from that into this role now.” Said Parker.
