New Clarets Head Coach discusses 'traits, core values and excitement of the challenge'

New Burnley FC Head Coach Scott Parker believes his own ‘traits and core values’ align with those of Chairman Alan Pace’s and highlighted the reasons that attracted the former West Ham and Spurs midfielder to joining the Club.

Speaking in his first interview with Clarets+, Parker said: “Firstly, it’s exciting. I’m excited about the challenge that we face as a Club, players, staff, fans and that’s the main driving force in my head.

“I have a real understanding of Alan and the ownership here. The history of Burnley in that sense from afar and how I see it, the core values and traits of the Club and what I stand for are very similar. Hard work and honesty.”

The 43-year-old added: “Another big driver is the passion and enthusiasm, which Alan and the ownership showed with the vision they have for this football club.

“I’m pleased to be here, it’s been a fairly long process and we’ve been speaking for a while now, which is probably positive as I’ve got a real feel for the people around the club. I can’t wait to get on the training ground now and get to work.”
