Scott Parker has praised Burnley's growth as a side ahead of Saturday's Premier League showdown against West Ham United.

The Clarets head to London Stadium this weekend with ten points on the board from their opening ten fixtures, during which period they have played five of the current top-six.

Parker, speaking ahead of the trip to the capital, expressed his satisfaction with the Clarets start to the campaign and the direction in which his side are heading.

"We're growing every game," he said.

"This team continues to grow in confidence, performance after performance, week after week.

"There have been positives to take in every game we've played this season.

"We're growing as individuals and as a team - there's a collective growth, on and off the pitch.

"That growth is being acknowledged by our fans, who have backed us every step of the way."

After a tough start to the campaign, West Ham chalked up their first home win of the season against Newcastle United last weekend, a result that lifted them to within three points of the Clarets.

Parker, a former Hammer himself having spent four years at the club as a player, is under no illusions regarding the magnitude of the game this weekend.

"It's another big game," he said.

"Of course there's a magnitude about it, given there's a small gap between the two sides in the table, but it's not something we've focused on this week.

"Our only focus is on what we need to do to win the game, like it is every week.

"We'll head there with plenty of confidence after our start to the season - and how we've fared in these kind of games so far."
