Dara O'Shea admits although there is disappointment following relegation from the top-flight, the defender is hoping the Clarets can use the hurt from this season to bounce back next year.
The Irish centre-back played 33 games for the Clarets and became a regular figure amongst Vincent Kompany's starting XI after joining from West Bromwich Albion last summer.
Speaking after Burnley's final game of the campaign, O'Shea said: "First and foremost we want to win football games, for myself, I want to win football games, it’s the nature of football, very competitive, and I don’t feel happy coming off after losing a game, I know how much it means to the club and the community and how much it means to the lads as well.
"For us as a group, the expectation is for us to go back and we are going to take that with us. I don’t think we need to think back on the past, but focus on the present and the future and what we can grow into as a team and lets move onto the division with confidence and also understand and respect that it’s a tough division. It’s not always going to be easy, and we have to show our character.
“We echoed just that we’ll be back. It wasn’t our day or our season this season, but we’re focussed on next season now. We basically come back and just need to focus on that and not let this get us too down, like I said, this season was a lesson learned but it's all about the next one now."

When asked what the message was after relegation was confirmed at Spurs, O'Shea explained: "Straight away at the end of the Spurs game Vincents message was the same, that the full focus is on next season now and everyone kind of took on board and took into this week.
"We are just looking forward to next season and obviously it's the end of our Premier League campaign this season and we’ve learned a lot this season, so I think there’s real confidence in the group, we know what we’ve done wrong, we know what we need to improve, so I think that’s our value and we’ve gotten to add these life lessons.”
