Dara O'Shea knows the Clarets face a challenging task on Saturday as Burnley host Crystal Palace but says there is no better place to 'reward the supporters' than at Turf Moor on Saturday for their ongoing excellent support.
The Irish defender joined the Club from West Bromwich Albion in the summer and admits he 'got a real feel for it' after his first time playing in Claret & Blue on home turf.
Speaking ahead of Saturday's clash with Palace, O'Shea praised the Clarets' support this season and has all focus on claiming a first three points at home this season on Saturday.
O'shea said: "The first time at Turf Moor, I really got a feel for it as a place and as a Club. It's massive to the people of Burnley and you can see what it means to the fans, for us as players, it gives us that extra push to do well.
"It's great the atmosphere we have here at home and it's the first time I have ever experienced a one town club.
"The support has been excellent so far this season, home and away and we are going to need it once again this weekend.
"We want to reward the fans for their unbelievable support so far this season and there would be no better place to do it then this weekend back at home at Turf Moor with our supporters."
The Irish international added: “Palace are going to be a tough side to break down. They are an excellent side, they have got some great attacking players and they’ve got a manager who has got a lot of experience in this league and he’s going to set them up in a tough way to beat.
"But with us at home, we’re looking forward to that, getting back in front of our fans, and making Turf Moor a hard place to come to and for teams to do well there.”
O'Shea has started the last three games for the Clarets in all competitions and as Vincent Kompany's side still look for a first win after the international break, the centre-back says the side have to look back on the previous games and take the positives from some of the football played.
"We’ve got to look back on the game and find the positives because we did play some good football there.
“I think we’ve got to be a bit cuter in our game probably in certain aspects and I think as well we’ve got new players like myself who’ve come into the squad, numerous players you’ve signed in the summer that are just gelling together."
"We would have liked to have had more points on the board and a lot more wins but that’s the nature of football and we can only look forward and not look back.
"You’re playing against world-class players week in week out and that’s something we’ve got to adapt to." Said the 24-year-old.
