Manager Vincent Kompany admits although results haven't gone Burnley's way over the past couple of games, the support has been 'tremendous' and the Clarets chief is relishing being back in front of a packed-out Turf Moor on Saturday as the hosts look to claim a first three points of the season at home.
This weekend will see Kompany's side return to Turf Moor in just under a month with the last home fixture being played on the 7th October and the Burnley boss wants his team to 'give the fans what they have been waiting for.
Speaking to the media on Friday morning ahead of the clash with Crystal Palace, Kompany highlighted the importance of 'togetherness' and insists it's 'massive' for his side to take advantage of the continued support.
Kompany said: "We're really looking forward to being back in front of our fans this weekend. We need them every step of the way and they have been with us every step of the way so far.
"It wasn't nice for them (supporters) at Brentford or at Bournemouth but they have still been there in their numbers and their support has been tremendous.
"Being back at home on Saturday needs to give us that advantage and it's massive for us to use that, to take every bit of support in our stride and give the fans what they have been waiting for.
"There have been plenty of difficult times for Burnley over the years in the Premier League and togetherness is key, not just now but for the entire season."
Saturday's meeting with Palace will see the oldest Premier League manager in Roy Hodgson come up against the youngest Premier League manager in Vincent Kompany and the Clarets chief had plenty of praise for the Eagles boss.
"I looked at his (Roy's) history and he's managed in so many countries and leagues. He is very experienced and I can see why he is still doing it.
"I'm lucky to have a father as similar age and he's just as active as Roy is at the moment. He will have never dropped his standards over the years and it's credit to him.
"He must be well supported, with important people in his life which enables him to live to his fullest."
Ahead of the game, Kompany also provided an update on the injury list of his squad and say's defender Jordan Beyer is nearing a return for the Clarets but striker Lyle Foster is unlikely to feature before the international break.
On foster, Kompany said: "At the moment there’s still no signs of improvement. The only thing I can more or less say is that he probably won’t be available before the international break. It’s something we have to deal with.
"Beyer is really positive, he's been training and training well. There's a chance he could return. But more importantly, him and Ekdal are both recovering well.
“Ekdal is slowly getting there. I can’t tell you whether he’s going to be fit before the end of the international break or not, or match fit let’s put it this way, but it’s on the right way." Added Kompany on the defensive duo of Beyer and Ekdal.
Finally, Kompany delivered an update on midfielder Aaron Ramsey's absence from the last few games: “He’s felt something. They’re not your classic hamstring pulls and quads and this sort of thing, it’s just picking up knocks and we’re picking up twists.
“He’s one of the players that will probably not recover straight away either.”
