Burnley Football Club can confirm that Naomi Hartley will remain part of our Women’s team squad heading into the new season, having signed a new contract.
The defender has agreed terms on a one-year deal, with the Club possessing the option to activate a 12-month extension.
“I’m buzzing to still be here, playing for my hometown club,” she said.
“There are a lot of new faces in the building, so it’s quite nice and it feels like a fresh start.
“When I was at other clubs I didn’t know if Burnley were going to make it to the WSL2, and now they are – which is a massive achievement for us and the people of Burnley.
“I think it will be a big step up, physically and mentally, but I don’t think we’re too far off. Come September, it will be nice to see how far we’ve come.”

Born and raised in Burnley, Hartley grew up watching the men’s first team from the stands at Turf Moor.
After a youth career at the likes of Liverpool and Manchester United, she made her name in the senior game at Sheffield United and Coventry United.
Hartley signed for her girlhood Clarets in November 2023, making her debut in an FA Cup game against Coundon Court a month later.
After making 28 appearances and scoring three goals in 2024/25, she featured 23 times during the Clarets’ promotion winning campaign last time out.
The 25-year-old is now preparing for life back at Barclays Women’s Super League 2 level, with pre-season well underway.
