Arijanet Muric became Burnley's and Vincent Kompany's eighth signing of the summer transfer window on Friday afternoon, after moving from Manchester City.
In the 23-year-old's first interview, he discussed how he was ready for the permanent move, knowing Vincent Kompany and looking to bring his experience with him to Burnley.
Muric on joining the Clarets:
“I am very happy to be here, I can’t wait to meet my new teammates now and begin training.
“I’m 23 now, so I feel it is the right time to move on and I’m looking forward to the new season.”
Muric on playing under Vincent Kompany:
“I trained with him for over two years at City, he was my captain at the time, so I know him quite well.
“I am now happy to be back and working under him as my new manager.”
Muric on Kompany showing management qualities in his playing career:
“He has always showed the leadership and qualities of becoming a manager.
“I think he is a natural leader; he has shown it for many years, and I think he has the right experience for it.”
Muric on reuniting with goalkeeping coach Jelle ten Rouwelaar:
“I worked with him from my time with Breda in Holland, it was only for a short time, but in that short time we worked well together.
“So, I am happy to be back working with him and played a part in me coming here as well.”
Muric on the project building at Turf Moor:
“Of course, I am young too and enjoy working with young players as well.
“It’s exciting and I can’t wait for it to start now next week.”
Muric on bringing his previous experience with him:
“It was very valuable, I’ve played in Spain, Holland, Turkey and of course England too!
“They were all good experiences for me, but now I’m ready for the next step.”
Muric on learning from his time at the Etihad:
“To train and play with some of the best players in the world was great for me.
“It was a good experience for me to learn from them and hopefully I bring some of that with me to Burnley.”
Muric on the season starting next week:
“I can’t wait, I’m very excited and looking forward to training with the team this week coming.
“Then the first game at Huddersfield next Friday, it’s very soon and we will be ready.”
