Ben Mee looked back on frustrating afternoon that saw the Clarets out of luck in both penalty areas to see their unbeaten run ended at Elland Road.
Mee felt the Clarets were harshly penalised for a foul given against goalkeeper Nick Pope when he looked to have saved at the feet of Leeds United striker Patrick Bamford.
Then after Bamford had slotted home from the penalty spot to claim the fifth-minute goal that secured Leeds a 1-0 win, Mee was controversially denied a spot-kick of his own at the other end.
Rather than punish goalkeeper Illan Meslier, referee Robert Jones deemed Mee the offender and, to rub salt into the wounds, Ashley Barnes lashed home what would have been an equaliser after Meslier dropped the ball.
“He came into the back of me and I don’t know how it wasn’t a foul,” said Mee.

“He dropped it and we put the ball in the back of the net.
“If he doesn’t give anything we score a goal, but he blew his whistle so fast.
“It’s a foul anywhere else on the pitch, but I don’t want to talk about it too much because we got ourselves back into the game in the second half and had chances and a lot of pressure against a good side.”
The Clarets totally dominated the second half to virtually balance up possession over the 90 minutes.
But despite out-playing a Leeds side renowned for their attacking flair, Burnley couldn’t find a way to punish the leakiest defence in the division and earn any reward for their efforts to extend a four-match unbeaten run.

“It was a disappointing first half,” added Mee. “We didn’t get out of the blocks and there were a few sloppy things happening, including from myself.
“But in the second half we came out and showed how fit we are as a team and a group and played well in the second half. We just needed to find that moment.
“We are renowned for being difficult to beat and we need to try to do the other side of the job as well, to find that bit of quality to put the ball in the net.
“We pushed and pushed but couldn’t get the final moment.
“Overall, we’re frustrated. It didn’t go our way today.”
