The women's team pick up their league campaign following the festive break on Sunday afternoon against 2021/22 season's winners Wolves Women.
With both sides currently making up the top four, the Clarets in second and Wolves in fourth, midfielder McPartlan is looking forward to the challenging encounter.
“It’s been a while since we’ve played so I’m excited to get going. We played Wolves at the start of the season, we drew, so we’re looking to take all three points from this game.”
That game came early on in the season in September 2023 and McPartlan believes the side have improved since then.
“Honestly, we learnt a lot about each other and a lot about the team. It was one of the first games we played together. We’ve learnt so much since then and we’re a much better team for it.”
The Claret women have not played in the league since November, while other teams in the league have, does that offer them any kind of advantage?
“We don’t focus on other teams too much at all, we’re just focussing on ourselves. We’re just going to control what we can control and that’s getting three points from Wolves on Sunday.”
The midfielder has been in and amongst the goals recently, bagging back-to-back hat-tricks in the last two fixtures against Alnwick Town Ladies and Coundon Court Ladies in the Women's FA Cup. So, how much confidence does that give going into the upcoming run of games?
“It brings a bit of confidence but goals I’m just trying to help the team in anyway I can, whether that’s goals, assists, or just doing what I can do to help us.”
Signing ahead of the 2023/24 campaign, McPartlan is enjoying her time at the Clarets and getting back to action this weekend.
“I’ve loved my time here so far. The group’s a really good group and I’m really enjoying getting to know everyone.
“Away games help with that, just getting to spend those extra few hours together, just talking, cracking jokes, stuff like that - it’s good fun.”
