Brenna McPartlan has reiterated the need for her and her Burnley Women teammates to be fully focussed when Bradford City visit Lancashire this afternoon.
The Bantams, who operate in the fifth tier of the English football pyramid, are today’s opponents in the second round of the Adobe Women’s FA Cup.
That’s the same level of round one opponents Spennymoor Town and, although the Clarets put 12 past the Moors, McPartlan insists that doesn’t mean a thing.
“I’m really excited for Sunday,” she said,
“The cup brings a different excitement to it and all the girls are looking forward to the game.
“Anything can happen in a one-off game, and we’ll be ready for tough opposition in Bradford.
“It (Bradford’s league standing) doesn’t change anything – they’ll be looking to cause an upset so we’ll prepare as we usually would. We want to progress as far as we can in the FA Cup.”

Rebecca Sawiuk’s side are buoyed by a fine run of form that has seen them win their last eight outings in all competitions.
The most recent of those victories came away at Hull City in the league last weekend, with McPartlan opening the scoring before Claudia Walker sealed all three points in injury time.
Reflecting on that match in Yorkshire, McPartlan continued: “I thought it was a good performance in really tough conditions.
“It wasn’t easy to play on quite a bobbly pitch that took away from what we try and do.
“We found a way to win though, and overall, I do think it was a really good performance.”
McPartlan, an eight-cap Northern Ireland international, found the back of the net from the penalty spot after Reanna Blades was brought down by a Tigresses defender.
When asked whether adding more goals to her game is something she’s keen to do, the 25-year-old finished: “Yes for sure.
“Last year I got quite a few in the cup but my target this year is to get a couple more in the league itself.”
