Burnley Football Club are delighted to confirm that Kian McMahon-Brown has committed his future to the Clarets by signing his first professional contract.

The two-year deal extends his time at the Club until at least the summer of 2028, and the striker is now looking to build on a successful scholarship that ended with winning the 2025/26 Academy Player of the Season award.

After putting pen to paper at Burnley Training Centre, he said: “I’m delighted to have signed my first professional contract here at Burnley.

“It’s been a great journey since I joined the Club at U14 level, and this feels like the next big step in my career

“I’ve learned so much from the coaches and everyone around me, and I’m grateful for the opportunities I’ve had.

“Last season was a great learning experience with the step up to Premier League 2, as well as having the chance to represent the Republic of Ireland at the U17 World Cup. Hopefully, I can build on that momentum this season.

“It’s been a great start being out in America with the first team, and I’m looking forward to continuing to work hard and keep improving.”

McMahon-Brown joined Burnley as a U14 and went on to sign two-year scholarship terms ahead of the 2024/25 season.

That campaign saw the teenager excel with both the U18s and U21s, recording 34 goals and 15 assists in all competitions.

In November he was part of the Republic of Ireland squad at the U17 FIFA World Cup in Qatar and scored in a 4-1 victory over Panama.

After being named on the first team bench for the Premier League trip to Everton in March he finished his Academy campaign strongly, including scoring the winning goal as the U21s lifted the Premier League Cup.

Academy Manager Chris Casper added: “We’re delighted that Kian has decided to stay at Burnley as we can see the development he has made, and I’m very confident he will continue in this way.

“He’s always been an excellent goal scorer, and it has been great to see the physical and tactical sides of his game come on leaps and bounds last season.

“He has worked extremely hard to achieve this contract and with the continued help and guidance of our coaching and support staff, I’m confident he can fulfil his potential here with us."
