Burnley fell to a 3-1 defeat to Liverpool in Merseyside on Saturday afternoon.
In the winter sunshine, Vincent Kompany made three changes to the team that drew to Fulham last week, with Maxime Esteve, David Datro Fofana and Hannes Delcroix all making the starting 11, and Aaron Ramsey made it two starts in two in midfield.
In front of a record league attendance crowd of 59,896 at Anfield the Clarets started positively, with Kelleher making a comfortable save from an Amdouni shot in the opening minutes.
Last weekend's goalscorer Fofana made his presence known up top, as the visitors applied some early pressure.
A driving run from Diaz landed with Alexander-Arnold, his shot sailed over the bar and not too long after Curtis Jones found himself in space but he also fired over. However, the flurry of chances offered a warning to the visitors.
The first two yellows of the game went to O'Shea and Quansah, with the free-kick from the latter's foul taken by Aaron Ramsey - but it was well defended by the homeside.

It was the Reds who took the lead on 32 minutes, when Jota headed home from an Alexander-Arnold corner.
In the following ten minutes Burnley had to stay compact with Liverpool's attackers continuing to make the Clarets work and Trafford made some strong saves to keep the score 1-0.
A ball over the top from O'Shea found Amdouni, who managed to lay it off to Odobert but his effort travelled past Kelleher's far post.
The Clarets drew level on the 45 minute mark through a Dara O'Shea header from Josh Brownhill's corner - a special moment as it was the Republic of Ireland international's first league goal for the club.
Heading into the break level, the Clarets had performed well against the league leaders and it was all to play for in the second-half.
A VAR check was required 52 minutes in when Diaz doubled Liverpool's lead. Harvey Elliott's cross found Diaz who headed home and following a short check the goal was given.
A short while later Trafford did well to deny Nunez from close range but the Uruguayan was flagged as offside.
Moments later saw an attack at the other end, when Kelleher came out to block David Fofana's shot and Odobert couldn't convert the rebound.
Kompany’s men kept pushing and Fofana came agonisingly close to getting the Clarets back in it sending his shot just wide of the post.
Esteve showed his pace in a foot race with Nunez, with the Liverpool number 9 unable to get his shot away as he fouled the French defender, which resulted in a yellow.

Nunez made it three, through a header again, when he found himself on the end of a ball in from Harvey Elliott.
At the 80 minute mark, Kompany made a double change with Esteve and Ramsey making way for Vitinho and Massengo and Klopp introduced Gakpo for goalscorer Diaz.
Minutes later in another change for the visitors Zeki Amdouni was replaced by Jacob Bruun Larsen for the remainder of the 90 and the eight added minutes.
In the closing stages a triple change for Liverpool saw Tsimikas, McConnell and Clark come on for Robertson, Endo and Mac Allister, before the referee blew the whistle with the afternoon drawing to a close at 3-1.
