Burnley produced the perfect anniversary present for manager Sean Dyche by destroying Brentford to secure a first league win of the season at a raucous Turf Moor.
A rampant first-half display saw his team find the net three times before the interval and ease to a first win of the season.
Goals from Chris Wood, Matt Lowton and yet another from Maxwel Cornet, gave Brentford a Halloween nightmare and Dyche one of his best wins at Burnley, nine years on from first arriving at the club.
The best 45 minutes of the season so far could have resulted in an even bigger lead, with only a VAR goal review and some good saves keeping the score down, the game virtually won by half-time.

Visitors Brentford did score a late consolation in a quieter second period, but it didn’t spoil the day for the manager and his team.
A much needed first three points was fully deserved, with every player in a Burnley shirt excelling.
And it was the Clarets, not the Bees, who were buzzing from the off, getting on the front foot and unsettling the visitors defence immediately.
A blockbuster first-time finish from Wood just four minutes in gave Dyche’s side a dream start, from which they never looked back.
The hosts were dominant throughout the early stages, roared on by a noisy Turf Moor crowd, with a clearly confident Wood also cutting inside and firing just over the bar.
It looked like it was two for the Clarets inside a quarter of an hour when the Burnley number nine got on the end of an excellent Ashley Westwood pass. He flicked on towards Cornet who passed the ball into the net.
However, the New Zealand forward was adjudged to be just a fraction offside after a lengthy VAR review and the goal was chalked off.
Even so, the forward pair were still causing the Brentford defence countless problems.
Occasional scares to the Clarets backline did come, particularly when Nick Pope spilt a long throw, but the shot from Brentford’s Sergi Canos was headed over the bar by skipper Ben Mee.
Seconds later at the other end Jóhann Gudmundsson went clean through one-on-one after a quick counter-attack, but couldn’t beat Brentford keeper Alvaro Fernandez.
Pope also had to be alert to deny opposition striker Ivan Toney as both sides created chances in an open first half.
Thankfully it was the Clarets who got the crucial second.
It came after brilliant attacking play from both fullbacks, Lowton heading in a pinpoint cross from Charlie Taylor to double the lead.

Dyche’s side were now purring and firmly turned on the style, when Cornet got in on the act just four minutes later, with his fourth goal in as many starts.
The Ivorian took Dwight McNeil’s ball down, cut inside and curled a superb effort into the top corner, getting his name on the scoresheet and giving Burnley clear breathing space.
Gudmundsson nearly made it four just before the break, after more excellent link-up play from the front two, but was denied by an excellent last-ditch challenge.
Minutes into the second half Wood nearly got his second of the afternoon, but flashed a header just past the post.
Sean Dyche’s team weren’t as lively after the break but still in cruise control.
Goalscorer Lowton, who had talked in the week about wanting to contribute more going forward, went close to a brace himself but fired a shot wide.
An excellent scissor-kick finish from visitors' substitute Saman Ghoddos did ruin the clean sheet with ten minutes to go, but it failed to take the shine off a wonderful day for Dyche and his team.
The three points take the Clarets out of the Premier League bottom three, at least until Leeds United play Norwich tomorrow.
